The Team
Melissa Songco
Chief Executive Officer
Melissa joined Habitat for Humanity WJR as CEO in April 2021, bringing with her a career entirely devoted to non-profit work and community development. Her connection to Habitat is deeply personal: over 20 years ago, while at Marquette University, she volunteered locally and on a Global Village trip to Zambia. It was there that she was inspired by the mission of affordable housing, an inspiration she jokes was "Habititus" that never left her. Having previously served organizations like Milwaukee Habitat, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee, and Junior Achievement of Wisconsin, Melissa leads our team with a steadfast commitment to ensuring every family has a safe, affordable place to call home.
